Destination: Grand Cayman Island

Grand Cayman Islands

Today, my magic carpet will take you to all to the beautiful Grand Cayman Island which is the largest island among the three Cayman Islands in the Caribbean. Grand Cayman Island, aside from it’s rich arts and culture, it is famous for beautiful coral reefs, turtles, colored iguanas, the incredible Stingray City or sandbar, underwater sea walls along with a number of shipwrecks and the beautiful white sand Seven Mile Beach. Great activities are scuba diving and snorkeling to explore the amazing sea creatures.

Grand Cayman Island is one of my favorite destinations, my daughter and I enjoyed watching the blow holes and exploring the whole island where you can drive from one end to the other end of the island in less than a day. I would recommend to rent a car to enjoy the beautiful Seven Mile Beach and the island. A week stay at the island is perfect, however if you’re going to the other two islands, definitely at least ten days. While you’re there, don’t miss their famous turtle stew, coconut shrimps, rum cake and ice cream at Gelato and Co in Camana Bay.

Since it is an island, it’s a quite expensive vacation destination but for me, it’s worth it. Depending on your budget, aside from great hotels, there are plenty of Airbnb available in the island. Best advice is to plan your trip ahead and do your research about the island.
